Seattle.com's reviewer (dp) writes: Sure there's Starbucks and Seattle's Best coffee, but for a true Seattle coffee house experience, it's hard to top the Cherry Street Coffee House on First. On the morning we stopped by, soft delta blues shared the air with speedy, free wireless Internet connex. A suitably smart local crowd was intensely involved with their newspapers, laptops and espresso drinks. Barista Sarah Frederickson prepared our caffè macchiato in a properly saucered ceramic cup with a foam painting of a flower radiating from a center point. The other customer's latte was in a tall paper cup and had a heart design. So impressed with this coffee artistry, we went back for a latte, which was crowned with a dramatic side view recreation of a lotus flower. “It just comes out," Frederickson said of her spontaneous artistry.
